Decorating Hairclips

My daughter has long hair and she frequently ties it up into a ponytail. She loves hair accessories and has a whole big box of them on her dressing table. I buy her lots of hairclips in various colours for her to match her clothes...I think it's a good idea to teach colour coordination when the children are young because when they become teenagers all the fashion advice will just go in one ear and out the other (and you begin to wonder if they have anything at all in between their ears?!)

However, I notice that the decorative plastic coating on some of the hairclips start to peel off after a while. So I came up with an idea on how to redecorate these clips instead of throwing them away.

1) Peel off the plastic coating

2) Use nail polish…a cheap bottle from the 'pasar malam' will do

3) Paint the hairclips and leave to dry thoroughly. You could sprinkle some glitter if you wish, to add a bit of sparkle....voila!
